Who am I

Deandra Sanders, LPC

A Person-Centered, Compassionate Approach to Healing

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a therapist because I’ve always been deeply curious about people (why we do what we do, how we become who we are, and what helps us heal). Fair warning: I’m a little nosy, but in the best way!

I’m endlessly fascinated by the human experience, especially the moments that shape us, break us open, or lead us to rediscover parts of ourselves we thought were long gone.

‍  ‍Who I Work With

I specialize in supporting teens, adults, and older adults who carry the impact of trauma, especially trauma that has shaped their sense of identity.

My clients often share:

  • “I’ve never fit into a box.”

  • “People keep trying to define me.”

  • “Therapy didn’t work for me before, I need something different.”

If that resonates, you’re in the right place.

    My Person-Centered Therapeutic Approach

My work is rooted in the person-centered approach, meaning:

✨ You are the expert on you.

✨ You lead; I walk with you.

✨ You deserve a space free from judgment, pressure, or expectation.

What I Want Most for You

Above all, my goal is to offer a space where you can:

  • Explore who you are

  • Heal what has wounded you

  • Redefine your identity on your own terms

  • Become who you want to be and not who others expect you to be

You don’t need to fit into a box here. You get to be fully, freely you.

I provide a warm, relational, and deeply attuned environment where you can explore your inner world safely and authentically. From that foundation, I integrate:

  • Psychodynamic therapy – to understand your patterns, defenses, and origin stories

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – to help you regulate emotions, tolerate distress, and build mindfulness

  • Trauma-informed practices – to ensure pacing, safety, and empowerment at every step

Together, we uncover what’s been shaping your identity and build the tools you need to step into the fullest version of yourself.
